Tour Description
Girdwood Glacier Dog Sledding Helicopter Tour

An unforgettable Alaska adventure you’ll treasure forever!

Your journey begins as you lift off above Girdwood Valley on a breathtaking helicopter flight into the heart of the Chugach Mountains. Enjoy spectacular photo opportunities from the air before touching down on Punchbowl Glacier — a vast snowfield sitting 3,200 feet above sea level.

On the glacier, your mushers will meet you at the helicopter and introduce you to your team of Alaskan Huskies. We are proud to partner with Seavey’s IdidaRide Kennel, owned by Mitch Seavey — a true mushing legend and three-time Iditarod Champion. The mushers and their dogs call the glacier camp home throughout the summer, living and training together in this stunning, remote setting.

As the mushers choose their dogs for the sleds, the excitement is palpable — the team erupts in eager barks, ready to run. You’ll get a quick introduction to how the sled operates, and then you’re off on an exhilarating ride across the snow, surrounded by a jaw-dropping panorama of glaciers and peaks. Your musher will guide you every step of the way, whether you choose to stand on the runners or settle in and savor the scenery. Afterwards, enjoy some well-deserved puppy time with the camp’s adorable young huskies.

To wrap up the experience, you’ll receive a guided tour of the camp and pick up fascinating insights into the day-to-day life of a professional musher.
