All tours are rain or shine except for Northern Lights. However high winds may affect Boat Tours, Kayaking, and Flight Tours. Please see the different seasons for each activity.

- How long do we spend at our northern lights viewing location?
Most nights we spend approximately 3 hours at a location. Although, some nights our strategy determines we must drive longer distances to find clear skies. Therefore, we sometimes end up spending less time at a single location.
- How long do the northern lights last?
Northern lights displays may last anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes to multiple hours.
- What are the months you can book a northern lights tour?
Northern lights viewing is possible from mid-August through mid-April.
- Does the Moon affect northern lights viewing?
Yes, but not the way you might think. Greatland Adventures aurora guides are experts at positioning guests in the optimum location for the best chance of viewing the northern lights. Please read this post to understand the moon phase and northern lights viewing.
