Are reservations required?
Reservations are required at least 24 hours in advance.
How can we modify our reservation?
In order to change a reservation, please send a written request to info@greatlandadventures.com.
Do you have group rates?
Yes. Group rates are available on all private tours. For groups larger than 12 please contact us.
Do you offer private tours?
Yes! Most of our tours can be a private tour. In fact, this is one of our specialties!
Do I need to sign a waiver?
We have a virtual waiver to complete attached to your booking confirmation.
Do you offer any discounts?
While we do not offer standard discounts, we do occasionally run specials. Also, you can get $20 off from your tours by subscribing to our newsletter.
Do you offer gift cards?

We have a main office in beautiful Anchorage at 854 East 36th Ave. Anchorage, AK 99503 and operate tours remotely in Fairbanks, AK.
Do you offer hotel pick up and drop off?
We include hotel pick-up at most hotels in Anchorage and Fairbanks on all tours that we operate.

What is your tipping policy?
Tips are not required, but greatly appreciated! Industry standard gratuity is 10-20% of the tour cost.
What is your weather policy?
In the event of cancellations due to weather conditions, a full refund will be issued. Our northern lights tour operates a little bit differently. Please see this post for more information.
Do you allow service animals or pets?
To ensure the comfort of all our guests, service animals are welcome exclusively on private tours. This policy helps us maintain animal-free tour vans, addressing potential concerns such as allergies, fears, or disruptions for other participants.
How long do we spend at our northern lights viewing location?
Most nights we spend approximately 3 hours at a location. Although, some nights our strategy determines we must drive longer distances to find clear skies. Therefore, we sometimes end up spending less time at a single location.
How long do the northern lights last?
Northern lights displays may last anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes to multiple hours.
What are the months you can book a northern lights tour?
Northern lights viewing is possible from mid-August through mid-April.
Does the Moon affect northern lights viewing?
Yes, but not the way you might think. Greatland Adventures aurora guides are experts at positioning guests in the optimum location for the best chance of viewing the northern lights. Please read this post to understand the moon phase and northern lights viewing.
What do I need to wear?
